Former Irish boss, and current Faroe Island manager Brian Kerr believes Ireland face an uphill task to beat France over two legs. During his time as Irish manager he got a 0-0 draw in Paris but lost at home to France 1-0 through an Henry wonder strike.
He said on RTE Radio One's News at One
"I think they're in very good shape at the moment. Although they only finished in second place in the group, I've watched all their games either on tape or live when we played against them, and I thought they were a very good side.
"Far from the talk of bad morale and disputes with the manager, it looked to me like the morale was very strong last week when we played in France.
"In the Faroes they looked a lot more vulnerable and in the group they have conceded goals, but they're a fantastic attacking unit."
