Denis Behan has moved from Cork City to Hartlepool United on Monday night to help the cash strapped club. Colin Healy and Behan were meant to leave in a double deal for €70,000, but so far Healy is reluctant to leave his native city.
Hartlepool manager Chris Turner said on www.elevenaside.com
"'I've been to see Denis play on a number of occasions and I've always been impressed. Having spoken to a number of top people in Irish football I'm convinced this will be a good signing of a player at a great age and with a lot of experience and quality.
"He's a left-footed centre-forward which is quite a rare thing I suppose; he holds the ball up very well, will back in to his defender and has a good eye for goal.
"Denis will handle the physical side more than the other strikers we have and if you want to see the recent record of Irish strikers coming across you only have to look at Reading to see how it can work out."
